How do I get started using Backupalicious.com?

Using the Backupalicious.com website backup service is extremely easy. Once you sign up then you will have the option to manage your website backups by using either our online account management screen or by downloading our free Adobe AIR desktop application for an additional layer of security.

If you choose to download the desktop application then you will be prompted to enter a packing key. This packing key is different from your user name and password and is something that you and only you know in order to give your data an extra level of protection.

Once you have chosen a packing key you will need to enter in your website’s cPanel information (domain name, user name, password, cPanel theme, etc.) into the JavaScript form in your online Backupalicious.com account.

Even we do not have access to your packing key or any of your cPanel information so if you forget your packing key then you will need to start from the very beginning and enter your cPanel information in for each of your websites again.

The final step after entering in your cPanel information is to download the Adobe AIR desktop application. This desktop application uses your personal packing key to make sure that you are the only person to ever be able to have access to your cPanel log in information.

This Adobe AIR desktop application coordinates with the JavaScript form you used to enter your cPanel information in so that the only person that ever has access to your cPanel information is you.

Once the desktop application is installed then you can minimize the application as the Adobe AIR app runs in the background on your computer and backs up your websites securely to our server and then is redundantly backed up to the Amazon S3 service.
